Book of Exodus

DAY 2 OF 12

GOD’S REBUKE

It is a similar picture what we believers are facing nowadays, when Pharaoh the King of Egypt tried to block the Israelites to worship the living God. The Pharaoh we are facing now is not in the form of a mean king, but more of worldly pleasures, interesting TV shows, internet, hobbies, work and business or other things that hinder us to worshipping God. The worst thing is that some of us are bonded and enslaved by it and we are drifting away from God’s presence.

Pharaoh’s harden heart is a picture of a believer who hardens his heart because of worldly pleasures. God has to perform a lot of plagues before Pharaoh so that the Egyptians and Israelites come to their senses that it is really God who commanded the Israelites to worship the living God. In life we find a believer who had left God because of something, and by God’s provision the person has to bear some unpleasant situations so that they repent and come back to God.

The plagues, to the Egyptians, are a reprimand and warning from God. God allows us to be warned through certain situations or incidents to cause us to be consciously aware and come back to Him. Let us become a believer who is humble, or who wants to humble ourselves just like Moses, to hear God’s reprimand and advise sincerely.

If today you can still hear God’s reprimand and warning, do not delay to repent before it’s too late.
