He That Heareth My Word
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” (John 5:24 KJV)
According to Strong’s Concordance, the Greek word for “heareth” is ‘akouō’ (G191) which means “to be endowed with the faculty of hearing, not deaf, to hear, to attend to, consider what is or has been said, to understand, perceive the sense of what is said, to perceive by the ear what is announced in one's presence, to get by hearing, learn a thing, comes to one's ears, to find out, to give ear to a teaching or to a teacher, to comprehend, or to understand.”
Choose to hear God’s Word. Choose to give your ear to His teaching and His way of doing things. Choose to comprehend, understand, and digest His Word daily. His Word is life. His Word is alive. His Word is active. His Word is operative. God’s Word will lead and light your path. Choose to hear His Word continually.
John 5:24 (AMPC) declares, “I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, the person whose ears are open to My words [who listens to My message] and believes and trusts in and clings to and relies on Him Who sent Me has (possesses now) eternal life. And he does not come into judgment [does not incur sentence of judgment, will not come under condemnation], but he has already passed over out of death into life.”
Choose to surrender to, listen to, and obey God’s voice. Open your ears. Choose to listen to what God has to say. Let His Word lead and guide your life. His Word will lead you—if you trust Him. Choose to believe, trust, rely, and cling to Christ. Trust His way of doing things.
No matter what storms may arise—choose to hear His voice. His Word has power. In fact, His Word is power. “I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life” (John 5:24 NLT).
Action:
