Spirit At Work: Devotions From Time of Graceનમૂનો
God’s creativity
The Holy Spirit has always been connected with the stories of God’s incredible creativity. In the first verses of Genesis, at the very beginning of the Bible itself, we hear that the Spirit hovered over the unformed watery mass. And then came the explosion of order and beauty and diversity, the explosion of life on earth.
The Spirit lives also in the hearts of men and women, bringing his divine spark to the children that he has made. When God chose the time for his first house to be built, the movable tabernacle, he wanted it beautiful. So he sent the Spirit: “The LORD said to Moses, ‘See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri . . . and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts--to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of craftsmanship’” (Exodus 31:1-5).
God invented color and perspective and form and metals and wood and fabric. He loves pattern and shape and complexity and line and shadow. In nature he built incredible designs that steal your breath away. And he takes great delight in seeing the artistic creations that his children produce, especially those that are created to honor him and communicate the splendor of his creation.
