Now but Not Yet
My point of contention is that for many, the not yet has become the hiding place of unbelief. It is the not yet that often brings me to the false conclusion that a given breakthrough didn’t happen because it wasn’t God’s will. We might think, “After all, God is big enough and powerful enough to make anything happen that He wants to happen.” There’s no question of His ability to do whatever He wants. But we are not robots. Nor does He program us like a computer so that His intended purpose is accomplished. Instead, we have been adopted by a perfect Father. He is a Father who longs for sons and daughters to join Him in the family business. Sons and daughters have access to his heart. And as we take advantage of this honor and responsibility, we learn to enforce His will through prayer and obedience. This partnership has an effect on the outcome of things.

What does it mean that we experience the Kingdom now, but not yet? In what areas are you expecting and praying for a different outcome where you are still waiting for the answer to your prayers. How do you manage the “not yet” in these areas?

About this Plan
You’re invited to walk through Bill Johnson’s teaching on The Way of Life. We want to see God demonstrate His will in and through us so profoundly, and obviously, that it becomes the very thing that draws people into the Kingdom. Let us live, love, and lead like Jesus. This plan is taken from Bill Johnson's book, The Way of Life.
