The Prophetic Responsibility

DAY 4 OF 5

DAY FOUR: The Diversity of Prophetic Expressions

Paul uses three words here: gifts, administrations, and operations. And the important thing to know is that each of the gifts can have different administrations and different operations. Two people can have the same gift, but they can operate differently in each person.

Look at the various expressions that can flow through those called to the prophetic:

Singing

Lots of biblical prophets wrote songs. Prophets in the Books of Chronicles were responsible for staffing David’s temple, and we notice that most of these singing prophets were considered seers. And probably because of the environmental component, they changed things with song.

Counsel

This is done conversationally. A classic example is Moses. When Moses told Pharaoh, “Let my people go,” that was a prophetic conversation. Every time Moses went to Pharaoh, he said what God told him to say. Those were prophetic words.

Intercession

God will share His secrets with prophetic intercessors so they can pray His will into situations and cause His will to manifest in the physical world. Prophetic intercessors are able to move things in the spirit, to cause situations to shift and atmospheres to change, because they pray the heart and mind of God, and the Lord backs what they say to bring forth His plans and purposes.
