Who Does God Say I Am?નમૂનો
A Shared Ownership
Romans 8:17 tells us we are God’s heirs—along with Jesus. But what does that mean? This verse highlights and emphasizes our role as upgraded children of God. God sent His Son to die for you and everyone around you too.
In our video today, Leslie gives us more details. She says this verse is an invitation to be “deeply connected with God.” We weren’t called to simply know about God or memorize Bible verses because “it’s the right thing to do.” We were meant to know God much more personally. We were meant to be like family to Him. In fact, we are called His children.
Let’s take a closer look at this verse!
Ask yourself: How are you treating this relationship of being Jesus’ co-heir? Are you investing time into your relationship with God as His much loved son or daughter?
Challenge yourself: Spend 5 minutes each day this week writing down Romans 8:17. By the end of the week, you’ll probably have it memorized! Pro tip: Leslie from today’s video used the NLT version of the Bible. It might be a good idea to use that version since it’s already in your brain!
Pray: God, thank You for sending Your Son to die for us on the cross so that we can be called Your sons and daughters—Your heirs. Help us to take this role seriously and know that we are upgraded. In Jesus’ name, amen.
