Practice Forgiveness
Forgiveness is pardoning someone for his or her wrongdoings; it literally means to free, reject, release, excuse, or let go. Forgiveness is renouncing the harmful past. Forgiveness means to stop scratching the wounds, which constantly bleed. Forgiveness means to live and love in the present, getting rid of the shadow of the past. Forgiveness is freedom from aggressive thoughts and anger. Forgiveness is getting rid of delusions that the past can be changed. Forgiveness is when you stop refusing to love others, when the wounds inflicted by burning thoughts to your heart are healed, and when you see the light of God in anyone, no matter his or her behavior. Forgiveness isn't only for others, it is also for us, and for the mistakes we made, for the guilt and shame in which we stubbornly live. Thus, you can forgive others setting them free of the guilt and responsibilities that were assigned to them. But, you can also forgive yourself setting yourself free from the guilt for the mistakes you made and for your shortcomings.
Will you forgive today? Will you allow to be forgiven?
Prayer: Lord, thank you for forgiving me, and that you will constantly forgive me. I want to be just like you! I never want to have problems forgiving. Amen.
Challenge: This one is going to be hard, but if you have come as far as the eighth day it means you are persistent and you really care. Think about your past. Are there any situations that you need to forgive someone? If there are any, do so by telling people that have hurt you that you forgive them. If by any chance you have hurt anyone, ask him or her for forgiveness. Remember, unforgiveness is a prison; forgiveness is freedom. Live in freedom and set someone free!
