Day 26
To truly appreciate the present moment, we have to let go of the past. When our minds are lost in thoughts about the past, we miss what this moment has to offer. Even if it isn’t as delightful as the scent of spring flowers, our only chance at happiness is to engage this moment fully as it is, tastings its fruits. Anyone who thinks fallen leaves are dead has never watched them dancing on a windy day. God gives us things to enjoy in the season we are in 1 Timothy 6:17b AMP.
Sometimes frustration can creep in when we miss out on what we used to be able to do and enjoy. For example, when you are a mum with a baby, you will not be able to do the things your friends without babies are doing. However, embrace the moments you are able to stare at the little bundle of joy you are holding because soon this season will be over and you will want to go back to return to it when you see your teenager leaving the house for their first day of highschool.
Learn to be satisfied in the situation you are in Philippians 4:11-13 AMP
Don’t waste your season, rather, discover how each day can bring glory to God.
God desires to reveal himself to you in every season and make you more like Him. Even our suffering will not be wasted. Are you paying attention or wasting your season? In whatever season, live life to the fullest! The enemy who is always counterproductive wants to rob us of our current season and miss everything that God has planned. He wants us to be in a perpetual longing for what is next rather than enjoying the current season we are in. Giving into this longing trains us to be in a place of constant state of discontentment, not living life to the full, John 10:10 AMP.
As the Greek philosopher Heraclitus once said, "The only constant is change." Autumn reminds us that our bodies, minds, and surroundings are always developing. It focuses on the impermanence of life, emphasizing how vital it is to embrace the present. By doing so, we can savor what we have before it is gone.
Let us not miss out on what this great season has to offer by trying to return to summer.
