Make Decisions With Faith and Confidenceનમૂનો
Put Action To Your Faith
Jesus told Peter to “launch out” in Luke 5. Peter had fished all night and caught absolutely nothing, so Jesus borrowed Peter’s boat that morning, pushed off a little from the shore, and taught the Word to a crowd of people. When He was finished preaching, He said to Peter, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch” (Luke 5:4).
Now, Peter was discouraged from a long night of unfruitful work. He was probably tired and hungry and wanted to go home to bed. He said, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing” (v. 5). Peter knew that morning fishing was a ridiculous idea; fish can see the shadow of the boat on the water when the sun is up, so no fisherman fishes in the morning.
But Jesus knew something Peter didn’t. He knew the only way to rectify a night of fruitless fishing was to launch out. Because that’s where the miracle catch was waiting. He was trying to get a blessing to Peter, but it was going to require some effort on Peter’s part. And it was going to require faith because in the natural there was no way to catch fish in the morning.
To Peter’s credit, he didn’t turn the Lord down. He took the step of faith and said, “Nevertheless at Your word, I will let down the net” (v. 5). And you know what happened. The Bible says they caught a net-breaking, boat-sinking load of fish! (Luke 5:6–7).
Because Peter was willing to put action to his faith and do his part by launching out, he received a miracle! The same can happen to you when you’re willing to step out, get moving, and try on the direction you’re feeling in your spirit.
So be brave and launch out! Realize that the fulfillment of your divine destiny will take some effort on your part. It’s going to require faith. Take some steps and ask God whether they’re right or not. He has great plans for you, so step out and meet that plan.
