5 Questions About Speaking In Tonguesનમૂનો
QUESTION 3: How do we know the gift of tongues is still valid for today?
What possible evidence is there in the New Testament that such a question should ever have been raised in the first place?
The New Testament is devoid of any text or argument that would cause us to doubt whether God intends for tongues to be operative in the Christian world today.
Tongues-speech consistently served a positive and spiritually beneficial role in the life of God’s people. Although the Corinthians had obviously elevated tongues inordinately, Paul’s counsel is never to forbid the gift but instead to regulate it so others might be blessed.
As long as tongues in the corporate assembly is followed by interpretation, it should never, ever be forbidden.
Tongues serves to edify and strengthen the one who makes use of it in his or her private devotional life. If no less than the apostle himself regularly prayed to God, praised God, and expressed his gratitude to God in uninterpreted tongues in the isolation of his own prayer closet, it stands to reason that we today should embrace this precious gift of the Spirit and make good use of it to the same end.
