How To Deal With Suffering નમૂનો
Suffering is Temporary
In the book of Romans, the Apostle Paul says, "Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep." This word is a reminder not to process suffering, whether in your life or someone else's life, coldly. That's not the way God deals with you, nor how we should deal with each other. God takes note of your sorrow and comforts. He's the God of all comfort. He teaches us to comfort each other out of the comfort which He comforts you. God cares that we hurt and are sad. His encouragement and love are real. So, if you're suffering today, do not just let the sorrow register, but let God's promises register in your mind and heart. Preach the truth of His Word to yourself.
In 1st Peter chapter 5, Peter says, "But you must resist the devil and stay strong in your faith. You know that all over the world the Lord's followers are suffering just as you are." Peter is saying that suffering is common, and everyone goes through it. You are not alone in your suffering. Peter continues by saying, "But God shows undeserved kindness to everyone. That's why he appointed Christ Jesus to choose you to share in his eternal glory. You will suffer for a while, but God will make you complete, steady, strong, and firm." This is what our amazing God does in our suffering. He points us to what is true at the moment. Yes, what is true at the moment is that you are suffering, but He calls it momentary. It's for a little while. It may feel long, but when compared to eternity, it is not. Point your eyes, mind, and heart to eternity. God will restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.
You cannot process suffering rightly until God's glory is your chief interest. Delight in existing for His glory. He's got you. Believe all of God's promises concerning your future and even concerning the heartaches and struggles that you're dealing with. There are situations that we may not understand at the moment, but let's trust God. His Word says that He's always at work for the good of everyone who loves Him. Trust His Word. Trust that He's constantly working for your good.
What is chief in your set of values? I encourage you to take joy in the fact that you exist to bring glory to the one that not only gave you life but has given you new life. God not only explains your existence but has now given you everlasting life.
