REFUGE IN GODનમૂનો
Devotional - Day 1 of 3
“Knowing God as your refuge”
“The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, A refuge in times of trouble. And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You. Psalm 9:9-10
I want to start by asking a simple question: would you trust someone you don’t know; someone you have no relationship with, with the password to your multi-billion dollar bank account and your various investments? I certainly would not, and I don’t think you would either. Generally speaking, no one would trust someone they don’t know with anything that is valuable to them.
Before you will ever truly take refuge in God, you must first come to know Him. To know Him is the same as putting your faith in Him for salvation, referred to in the New Testament as "saving faith". It is in knowing God that you will be able to trust and take refuge in Him. Psalm 9:10 says “And those who know Your name will put their trust in You”.
The Bible teaches that humanity was separated from God because of one man’s sin (Romans 5:12); this separation resulted in the loss of intimate relationship between man and God. This loss created an eternal void that can only be filled by regaining what was lost; and because God desires intimate relationship with mankind, He sent His only begotten son, Jesus Christ into the world (John 3:16) to be the pathway back to intimate relationship with Him (John 14:6). Therefore, no one can truly know God without acceptance through Jesus Christ.
God had already initiated such relationship with you by sending His son Jesus Christ to you; in turn, one must make a decision to be in said relationship with Him by accepting Jesus Christ. Once that happens and you are growing in Him, you are able to learn of Him from scriptures, from others around you and even from your day to day experiences with Him.
Beloved, God wants you to know Him and trust Him to be your all in all, so as you go through life experiences, allow God to reveal His unrivaled power and strength in your life. Make Him your firm foundation, your strong God, your refuge, your strength and strong tower. This God can never fail, He is the undefeated God, no circumstance, no situation, no difficulty that you may be facing today is bigger than your God, He is the All-Powerful God Almighty!
Believe in Him, trust Him, depend on Him, and know that you are not alone; He’s with you, giving you safe passage through whatever valley situation you’re facing; He promises to never forsake those who seek Him. Will you seek Him today?
