Eyes on You
“But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.”
Deuteronomy 4:29 (NIV)
All I want is You
All I see is You
All I have I bring to you
cause all I want is you
Nothing compares
Nothing comes close to You
No one can know
The depths of my soul like You
Eyes on You
You have all my attention
Eyes on You
You hold all my affection
Always You
Forever I will keep my eyes on You
For me, it has never come naturally to have faith. I grew up in the church, so it has also never been natural to doubt faith. I’ve always needed to make faith very practical to be able to understand it and to even believe in a God that’s for me. Out of the whole album, Eyes on You is as practical as it gets. It resonates with me because this has always been my prayer.
When I don’t know what to ask for, or how to pray, I just ask God to make me closer and closer to Jesus. In every way possible. Closer to the way He lived, the way He spoke, the way He loved people. And I feel like all I can do is try as hard as I can to be like Him; giving Him all I have, all my energy, all my thoughts, all my service, all my affection. To keep my eyes on Jesus means to keep my eyes on what’s right. To choose love, to live a life full of intention, and to not let any distractions keep me from giving all my attention to what matters, to what makes me better and to try and bring as many people as I can to join me.

ACTION
I feel like as life happens, it might get blurry to know what the right thing is and how to keep your eyes on Jesus. But for me, that always looks like people. The people that you admire and want to follow. Work to have people around you that share your desire of living a life at the highest level of intention. Embrace doubt. Find the people with whom you can ask any question and share any frustration. To keep your eyes on Jesus is to keep your eyes on the people that follow Jesus. When it gets blurry for you, they can point at what Jesus is looking like in that specific moment.
PRAYER
God, allow me to see You more clearly through people. Allow me to help people see You in me. Thank You for working for me even when I don’t see it. Thank You for placing specific people in my life that show me who You are. Help me encounter You in a new way every day. In Jesus’ name, amen.
