Depressed To Deep Rest In God નમૂનો
Declaring your Joy
Stressed. Depressed. Rest? Who has time to rest? You may be silently saying to yourself... Things like:
I have kids to get ready for school, a deadline to meet, church duties, appointments to keep, and everything else that eats away at my time. It’s to no surprise 11% of Americans now take medication to treat depression. Well, excuse me? That's depressing just thinking about it. Right?
God not only design us for rest, but He desires for us to experience deep rest in HIm.
Rest is God’s playbook for our lives. What daily plays are you running that have you restless right now?
In Genesis, God rested after creating the Earth. In Psalm 37:7, God said, “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him.”
In Exodus 23:12, God says, “Six days you shall do your work, but on the seventh day you shall rest; that your ox and your donkey may have rest, and the son of your servant woman, and the alien, may be refreshed.”
Rest isn’t just for you, it’s also for those around you. Read that verse again!
When we rest we pay the 'rest' forward to others. That's awesome!
If you’re having trouble finding room in your life for rest, examine your priorities. What can you give up in order to make time for rest? We are about to conclude our final devotion with a declaration of rest:
Today, 'say aloud' joyfully:
I will rest.
I don't have to hurry, I don't have to worry.
All my hope is in Jesus.
My past is gone.
My sins are forgiven.
God is so good to me.
