Love God, Lose Weight - Christmas Devotionનમૂનો
In His Image
Devotion
Can you comprehend what it means to be made in the image of God? Think about it for a minute—it means that you are divinely created. There's no one else like you in all the earth. Your physical appearance, your personality, your habits, your personal preferences, all these make you one of a kind. Just like no two snowflakes are alike, or no two fingerprints are alike, you are uniquely distinguished and set apart from everyone else on this planet.
Too often, we compare our bodies to other people's and wished that we looked like them. Imagine a daffodil wishing it were a tulip? Or a daisy wishing it was a marigold. Sounds ridiculous, doesn't it. But that's what we do when we compare ourselves to others. They're all beautiful, they're all unique, and they all bless us because of their differences. God knew what He was doing, and he made you uniquely you.
That's something to celebrate! Amidst all the hustle and bustle of Christmas, take a minute and celebrate your uniqueness and divinity.
Reflect
"For those whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers." Rom. 8:29 ESV
"And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit." 2 Cor. 3:18 ESV
1. Reflect on what it means to be created in God's image.
2. What would your life look like if you truly lived out that truth?
Love Challenge
Reflect on how God has set you apart and made you unique from anyone else in the world. Share what sets you apart from anyone else.
Worship and Prayer
"Lord, When I stop to realize that you created the whole world, and you saw fit to make me, my mind is blown away! You carefully knitted me together to be uniquely me with a special purpose to fulfill on earth. As I come before you today, I confess that I've cheapened your workmanship at times by rejecting myself. I am so sorry for this, Lord! I speak the truth that you are good and that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I ask your Spirit to come in and rewire my mind, creating new pathways for me to think about as we go deeper into your truth over these next weeks. In Jesus' name. Amen."
