THE GIFT OF IMAGINATION
Psalm 120 is the first of 15 Psalms of Ascent. These are the songs the people of Israel would sing on their way up to Jerusalem to celebrate the festivals, to prepare to meet with God. The songs are about the journey.
Our journey in life has different seasons. Some are exciting, in others we struggle, some are uncertain and others are full of joy. The good news is that we don’t need to go through any season alone; God is always there and we can help each other on the journey.
In every season, imagination is a gift from God that we can use to see the world through new eyes, to long for and pursue a better future, as we seek Him first.

The Ascent… is an invitation to climb. It’s an invitation to proximity. It’s an invitation to intimacy. In the Old Testament there are 15 psalms of ascent. They are songs that Israel sang on their way to celebrate God at festivals. They express amazing grace and they quiet anxious fears. They are songs that provide courage and support as we travel the road of faith and discover who we are and what God’s called us to. It has been said that the Psalms of Ascent are like placing your feet in the footprints of others and reminding ourselves to be moved again; to keep walking forward in the direction of God. This devotional is an invitation to lift our eyes and to ascend the heights; to becoming Jesus’ climbing companions.
