GOD OF BREAKTHROUGH:
I grew up in church. My Dad was a pastor, and I think I could quote Ephesians 3:20 before I could do multiplication tables. “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.” … I like that, I like knowing that He is able to do immeasurably more than what I can ask or imagine. But what about when things don’t look that way? When my most basic expectations aren’t being met, let alone the “immeasurably more” talked about in this verse? What is this “immeasurably more”?
The second part of the verse is the key to that, “according to his power that is at work within us.” HIS power IN us is “the immeasurably more”. It's hard for our minds to grasp. We are so steeped in darkness and the desire for immediate comfort that we often miss the greatest miracle of all, which is Jesus’ Spirit in us! We want a change of circumstance, we want comfort and peace, but He wants the dead places in our heart to come alive. Those dead places coming to life is more than anything you could’ve asked for or even imagined!
We may long for a change of circumstance to be our “immeasurably more” and there is no shame in that, but our Father knows best and is making our dark hearts right by the power of His Spirit in us. THAT is the miracle that will sustain you in any circumstance.
Let’s shift our perspectives today and focus on God's goodness to us. How he brought us back from death. As you shift your eyes from the circumstance to the greatness of our God, I believe you will find the breakthrough you’ve been longing for. Listen to "God of Breakthrough" today with that in mind and declare that your breakthrough is coming, even if your circumstances haven’t changed yet.
