How To Start Thriving As A Christian Artistનમૂનો
Faithful with Little, Ruler Over Much
Over the years, whether I am speaking to or mentoring artists who are searching for direction, I have always encouraged them to always ask the Lord to show them what’s currently in their hands. It’s very common for we dreamers to always be looking from the “thirty-thousand-foot view” rather than looking for things that God has entrusted us with. However, it’s also vital to understand—the only way vision manifests into reality is if you are faithful with what you have now.
As you are faithful with the little amount He reveals to you, you’ll begin to notice more opportunities, resources, relationships, and ideas coming your way. Why? You’re on a continual promotion track. You’re being faithful with the little the Father originally entrusted to you, and now He’s ready to entrust you with more. That’s the normal flow of the Kingdom.
I just love in verse 21 when the Master says to the first two guys in the story, “Well done good and faithful servants". The word “good” means intrinsically good which gets back to the foundational concept of identity in the Kingdom. We are not good or good enough because of what we do—we are good because of who we are in Him. We’re worthy and worth celebrating because of who He says we are—because of our relationship with the Father, through Jesus.
He also calls them “faithful,” which means they were fully persuaded in believing. Again, it’s not all about doing works in order to be found worthy, but it’s about knowing your heart has been fully renewed and transformed in such a way that the things that God says about you and your calling are so entrenched inside you, that you are faithful to them.
As you are faithful to the little things that God has for you, He will start positioning you in places of authority where you can be His ambassador. In that position of influence, you can offer to others what God has done in your life, call those things that are not as though they already are, speak the healing word of life into situations going on in the lives of people, and make a real Kingdom impact.
This is the way the Kingdom works, and it only expands in your life as you continue on the road of being fruitful and multiplying as led by the Spirit.
Take a few minutes to meditate on this scripture and ask the Lord to show you what’s in your hand now—what skills you have, what opportunities you have, what relationships you have, what amount of money you have, what time you have, and what talents you have. See, all of these things are the “talents” God has invested into your life up to this point. As you begin to gain understanding and confidence on your journey of stewarding God’s investment in your life, you’re going to see some incredible things begin to manifest. Why? Because that’s how the Kingdom works.
