Thrive Moms: Warrior Studyનમૂનો
"The Ultimate Warrior”
Go through and read today's scripture.
There are countless women in the Bible we can look to while training our hearts for the battlefield. Since creation, God has used the stories of women to shape our foundations and change history. But there is that one woman we always seem to come back to and our culture encourages us to become -- The Proverbs 31 Woman. The woman that so many of us struggle to become and weigh ourselves against.
She seems to have it all together, doesn’t she? The house, the career, the husband, the kids. I bet she even had chiseled abs and always smelled like roses. I used to get annoyed reading this chapter in Proverbs, because I felt like I was supposed to live up to everything she did and it all seemed completely unattainable. I think a lot of us have this Proverbs 31 phobia -- a fear that we will never measure up to this woman we are “supposed” to be. I always wonder how many women avoid church on Mother’s Day because if they have to hear one more lecture on this “virtuous” woman, they might burst.
Then I discovered what made the Proverbs 31 woman such a rockstar.
None of those things listed about her are what makes this woman the icon of all icons. Not the fact that she can “do it all.” So, what makes her so amazing? It’s her fear of the Lord. That is all that makes her virtuous. Not the cooking, cleaning, or her ability to plant a vineyard. All of those things come down to the most important feature -- she is a woman who fears the Lord. (Prov. 31:30)
It’s time to let go of the phobia of what we feel like we need to measure up to. Put down the measuring stick and realize that we can be Proverbs 31 women. If anything, the Proverbs 31 woman should lead us to desire a closer walk with the Lord, and not a desire for perfection.
You, sisters, are warriors. You are the ultimate warrior when you fear the Lord. It’s the most important step in your battlefield training! Let’s be a generation of women and mothers who are known for our devotion to our Creator!
