Heart’s Cryનમૂનો
'I declare forever you’re my King, I declare forever you will reign in my heart’
As a teenager, I had a mentor who was also a worship leader in my local church. At times, when leading worship she would encourage us to imagine singing before God’s throne. I cannot tell you how that helped me as a young Christian. Visualising an image of God on his throne helped in appreciating his majesty, power and sovereignty.
When this song first started coming together, I knew only one thing-it had to be a journey. I wanted people to have a visual image as they were singing but at the same time ensure there was room to connect. The lines: “I declare forever you’re my King, I declare forever you will reign in my heart’ stem from this experience.
I would like to break this down further, to be subject to a King, means to be submitted and in obedience to his authority. Jesus is our King and Lord and this is one of the ways I view God.
The second part of this line highlights the need for the King to rule in our decisions and life choices. The irony is He delights to rule in the affairs of men but often times we don’t allow him to.
Let’s take a moment to think on the areas in our lives where we seem to have taken control. Invite him to rule, acknowledge God as Lord and King over your life today and let worship flow from this perspective.

About this Plan
The song, Heart’s Cry, gives us a glimpse of the intimacy the Creator (God) shares with us - the created. It explores the journey of the worshipper - the search for identity, the reassurances of God’s promise, the growth in Godfidence. This devotional seeks to explore these themes behind the song and draw us closer to God.
