Easter In The Kingdom By Edmound Teoનમૂનો
Always Bring Peace
Judas betrayed Jesus because of greed. Actually, the pretentious kiss or love that Judas showed (v 48) did not give Jesus away. “Kiss” is simply the Greek word “phileo”, meaning “love.” In John’s narrative, there is no kiss. Instead, Jesus twice asked the men and officials: “Who is it you want?” and answered it himself: “I am he.” (John 18:4-8)
In truth, Jesus surrendered without a fight. The religious authorities wasted their money on Judas. Jesus was more than willing to give himself away. Jesus even addressed his betrayer as “friend,” not foe. Through all this Jesus was calm, cooperative and considerate. Jesus was peaceable, not provoked.
Prayer: Dear Father, I am a man of peace, just like Jesus. Give me a mind and a heart of peace. Help my words to always bring peace. I choose to love others and be a beacon of light to show that the ultimate love that I have is from you. In Jesus’ precious name I pray, Amen.
