The Heart Is Deceitful

Motives determine the stewardship of resources. There were times in my life that the way I viewed resources was in total contrast to how God inspected the management of resources. At one point, resources validated my existence. I leveraged having resources and it produced an opportunity for me to "prove" myself to everyone who "doubted me." I also mismanaged resources because of fear, and in return lost it all. I've been on both sides of the money fence.

The “why” and “what” of my behavior was founded on an insecure heart that tried to portray who I wasn’t to impress who didn’t matter. The reason God blesses us is so that we can be a blessing to others, not a stumbling block to ourselves. Thus, our motive for receiving determines our attitude towards others when we have, consider the story of Joseph.

Motivation determines the “why” and “what” in your heart and is significant to God. Can God trust you? Examine your motives so you can be a blessing to many in this season of open Heavens.
