Never Alone: A Six-Day Study By Tiffany Bluhmનમૂનો
Halfway through my labor with my son, my pulse slowed to half the beats per minute that it had been previously. I felt like I was slipping away as my pulse continued to drop. My doula noticed something was wrong and ran for help. Nurses and doctors raced to my bedside and gave me oxygen. They had no idea why my pulse had slowed and feared it might happen again before delivery. Terrified, I lay back in my hospital bed begging God to allow my body to do what I thought it was supposed to do. When our bodies fail to do what we expect, frustration and confusion consume our thoughts.
The woman with the issue of blood could have blamed God for her circumstance, yet when she saw Jesus, she didn’t scream or punch Him for her debilitating condition. She didn’t ask how a woman could end up so broken and alone. Instead, she believed He was capable of healing her failing body. Friend, belief ushers in more hope than blame ever will. Blame leaves us restless and angry. Something deep inside may feel justified when we blame God, yet He is the not cause of our pain; He is the Healer. He is sovereign over all, but He doesn’t use His sovereign power to harm us. Though we cannot understand the mystery of this, we can be sure that He is good and not the cause or source of evil (see Psalm 92:15).
Like the hemorrhaging woman, we are children of a faithful Father who declares we are beloved and cherished—even if we’ve been deemed by the world as untouchable or unfixable. Regardless of how we are viewed or treated, Jesus sees us through eyes of love and compassion.
There is another story of healing in Luke 8. Jesus encountered the hemorrhaging woman on His way to heal a young girl whose father was a respected ruler. And in love and compassion, He healed them both.
Jesus didn’t discriminate when it came to healing. From a twelve-year-old girl whose father was a Jewish leader to a woman who had been bleeding for twelve years, Jesus responded with love, grace, and healing power. And He wants to do the same for you! You don’t have to have it all together first. He hears every cry and prayer. He loves you and longs to restore you—every broken part.
