A love note found under my pillow and a prayer so powerful! The words on that paper came alive to me. Because I have a physical affliction, I began to realize how we allow things we can’t control to prevent us from being totally, free in Christ! The highest integrity, the greatest blessings, God’s pride on earth. Job was all of it. Yet suddenly his fortunes turned and sped downhill. Children, possessions swept off in a few quick strokes. Was it a one-time situation or is it an example that any or many of us as children of God can expect to some extent? What is the message for us?

The book of Job chronicles testing a righteous man's faith through suffering. Although Job's friends attempt to comfort him, it is only by God's revelation of His wisdom and might that Job finds true comfort. Even in deep suffering, God can do all things, and none of His purposes can be thwarted (Job 42:2).
