CODE VI
I will keep my body fit and free from any addiction.
BIBLE READING: 2 Timothy 4: 7-8
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day - and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
DEVOTIONAL:
Some of Paul's last recorded words as he is facing execution for his faith are to fight the fight, finish the race - keep the faith. He's wanting his mate Timothy to prepare himself for the race, for the fight and above all to keep the faith no matter what. This applies to us also.
Whether we like it or not we are in a war, a war which we win because of Jesus' victory on the cross.
This means we are fighting battles for Him every day against evil. Imagine that! The God of the universe has chosen guys like you and me to be Special Forces units, stationed around the world fighting battles for His Kingdom.
Now ask yourself the question - how battle ready are you?
I'm of a continued, growing, belief that the more we keep our bodies fit and free from addictions and stuff that slows us down and causes problems, the more energetic and focused we will be to fight those battles for Him - everyday! So don't just sit there - do something, have a blast doing it and better still why not do it with a few mates who aren't yet Christians!
Remember it takes 28 days to break a habit. Conveniently there are 28 chapters in the book of Acts. Why not change something or stop doing the thing that harms you. Commit for 28 days, read a chapter a day, get some mates alongside you, be accountable to them and above all let the Holy Spirit have access to all areas and He will guide you.
QUESTIONS:
- Is there a challenge you can do with the guys, something as a group you can get stuck into?
- How can you share with each other any prayer needs you have mid- week?
PRAYER:
Jesus, thank you that we can unite with our brothers to stand together for you. Guide us and empower us to make kingdom choices for you each day, help us to live a life fit and free from addiction. Amen

À propos de ce plan
The CODE is CVM’s (Christian Vision for Men’s) 12-point code of honour for Christian men to live by and fight for. It will allow us to be shaped by our brother, captain, rescuer and friend. The CODE isn’t some new theology, or a substitute for the Bible, the CODE is simply the 'tip of the spear', the catalyst for driving men deeper into God and His word.
