Being Generous: With and Without Money

Jour 5 sur 5

Limitless Generosity

God is generous, and He invites us to follow His lead. Over the past few days we’ve hit reset on how we think about generosity. We’ve looked at how God gives, and we’ve learned how to be generous with everything we have. But there’s one final ingredient we need to discuss–leading us to a slightly uncomfortable question.

Who should I give to? Who you’re generous toward matters. In Matthew 5, Jesus says that God gives rain and sunlight to both good and evil people. In other words, God is generous with people who like Him and people who don’t. God doesn’t limit His generosity–and He invites us to do the same!

Often, we let human wisdom get in the way of God’s limitless generosity. God doesn’t let questions like “Do they deserve it?” or “How will they use my gift?” hold Him back.

So if we truly want to be generous people, we need to embrace God’s limitless generosity. We start by asking God to help us let go of rationalizations that keep us from helping others. From there, we do our best to reflect God’s generosity toward anyone.

You can be generous. Anyone can be generous, regardless of their income. So don’t wait. Find someone to help today! Don’t let anything stop you from following Jesus by living generously.

Pray: God, help me live generously with what You’ve given me. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Challenge: Find someone to help today. Remember, generosity doesn’t have to be complicated.
