19
chapter nineteen
1and he is come in and is passed through through Yericho. 2and look, a man, who they has him called with the name Zakkai, and he was a chief tax collector, and a rich man; 3and has desire to see Yehoshua, who he is, and has not be able because the crowd people, because he was small of stature. 4and he is run ahead, and has climbed up on a sycamore tree, so that him to see; because he has there should pass by. 5and as Yehoshua is come to the place, has he looked up and said to him: Zakkai, come quickly down; because today must I stay with you (SG) in house! 6and he is quick come down, and has him welcomed with joy. 7and seeing this, have all murmured, so to say: with a man sinner is he entered self to stay! 8Zakkai however has self stand up and said to the L-rd: look, the half of my possessions, L-rd, give I to the poor people, and if I have with anyone something extorted, give I him back four times as much. 9Yehoshua has however to him said: today is a salvation come on the this house, because even he is a son of Abraham; 10because the Son of Man is come to seek and to save that, which is lost gone.
11and when they have this heard, has he again said a parable, on account of that what he was become near to Jerusalem, and they have thought, that the kingdom of Hashem must soon appear. 12he has therefore said: a certain nobleman is went away in a distant land into, to take for self a kingdom, and self to return. 13and he has called ten servants his, and them gave ten minas, and said to them: trade, until I come back. 14his citizens however have him hated, and have sent messengers after him, so to say: we want not, that the this one shall rule over us! 15and it is happened, when he has returned, after the that he has taken the kingdom of, has he ordered to call the these servants his to self, to which he has given the money, so that he shall know who it has what gained. 16and the first is come, and has said: L-rd, your mina has brought in ten minas! 17and he has to him said: well done, you (SG) good servant! because you (SG) are were faithful over a little, shall you (SG) have authority over ten cities of! 18and the second is come, and has said: your mina, L-rd, has obtained five minas! 19and he has said also to the this: and you (SG) you shall be over five cities of! 20and an another is come, and has said: L-rd, (look) here is your mina, what I have had hid in a handkerchief! 21because I have me afraid before you (SG), because you (SG) are an exacting man; you (SG) take up, what you (SG) have not lay down, and reap that, which you (SG) have not sown. 22says he to him: out your own mouth will I you judge, you (SG) wicked servant! you (SG) have known, that I am an exacting man, I take up, what I have not lay down, and reap, what I have not sown; 23and why you have not give my money in a bank, and I would it at my returning turn collected with interest? 24and he has said to the (ones), who are standing around: take went away from him the mina, and give it to the one, who has the ten minas! 25and they have said to him: L-rd, he has yet already ten minas. 26I tell you (PL), that (to) every one, who has, will given to be; from the one however, who has not, will even taken away to be that, what he has yes. 27yet the these enemies my, who have not wanted, that I shall rule over them, bring here, and slaughter them before me! 28and when he has this said, is he traveled ahead, and was going up to Jerusalem.
29and it has happened, when he has self come near to Beit-Pagey and Beit-Anyah by the mountain, which was named Mount of Olives, has he sent two of the disciples, 30and said: go into in the village opposite; and when you (PL) will there come in, will you (PL) find a young donkey tied up, on which any man is yet never not sat; untie it on and bring it to here. 31and if someone will you (PL) ask: why untie you (PL) it on? shall you (PL) so say: the L-rd need it has! 32and the Shlichim did go there, and have found just as he has them said. 33and when they have released the young donkey, have his masters of houses said to them: why untie you (PL) on the donkey? 34and they have said: the L-rd need it have! 35and they have it brought to Yehoshua, and have throwing their cloaks on the donkey, and sit up Yehoshua thereon. (Zecharyah 9, 9.) 36and while he was going, have they spread out their clothing on the road. 37and when he has self already come near to the descent from the Mount of Olives, has the whole mass of disciples begun rejoicing to praise Hashem with a loud voice for all mighty deeds, which they have seen, 38and have said:
blessed is the king, who comes in the Name of the L-rd (Hashem);
peace in heaven, and glory in the highest!
39and some of the Pharisees out of the crowd of people have said to him: Rebbe, shout on on your disciples! 40and he has answering said: I tell you (PL): if the these silent, will the stones shout!
41and as he is come over near and has seen the city, has he self wept over her, 42so to say, o, when also you (SG) would known in the this day what, which has a relationship to your peace! now however is it hidden from your eyes. 43there will come days on you (SG), and your enemies will throw a rampart around you (SG), and will you surround, and besiege from all sides; 44and will you make with the earth equal, and your children in you (SG); and will not leave a stone upon a stone in you (SG), for the reason that you (SG) have not recognized the time of your visitation to be!
45and he is entered in house HaMikdash, and has begun to cast out the sellers, 46saying to them: it stands written: my house will be a house of prayer (Yeshayah 56, 7); you (PL) however have of it made a den of robbers! (Yirmeyah 7, 11)
47and he has taught day daily in house HaMikdash; the chief kohenim however and the scribes and the leaders from the people have sought him destroy. 48and have not found, what they should do; because the whole people has self to listen to him with great earnestness.
