Do for Others
Carry one another's burdens; in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. GALATIANS 6:2 CSB
This isn’t a command to do someone else’s heavy lifting. It’s an invitation to share in the Lord’s work. Jesus said, “Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28 CSB). And we can participate in Jesus’s rest-giving ministry. The first step is to become aware of other people’s burdens—to find out what people really need. We can do that by initiating relationships and making ourselves available to others, physically and emotionally. We can learn to ask the right questions and show people we truly care about what they are going through. Once we become aware of their burdens, we can help carry them. To do that, we need strength—not necessarily physical strength, but emotional and spiritual strength. The kind of strength that comes only through prayer and Bible study. Ask God to help you make a difference in other people’s lives, and you’ll be amazed at what you can do. And then make sure that He gets the credit.
God, thank You for carrying my burdens and giving me rest. Thank You for people in my life who have carried my burdens by listening to me, loving me, and supporting me. Thank You for giving me a chance to share in Jesus’s work by carrying other people’s burdens. Create in me a heart that is attuned to other people’s needs. Give me the wisdom to ask the right questions. Give me the strength to carry other people’s burdens.
Remind me to give You all the credit for it. Amen.

This reading plan for men is designed to build the regular habit of intentional prayer, offering inspiration for carving out time to communicate with our King and experience the fullness of joy in His presence.
