Who's Taking Care of Me?نمونه
TAKING CARE OF YOUR BABY
Babies change our worlds forever. As I reflect on the birth of my now four-month-old, I think of all the new things I began feeling. “How is it possible to love someone I just met this much?” “I can’t believe I get to watch you grow up every day!” “I would do anything to keep you safe!” But I also started to experience something I didn’t love feeling as much. Between around-the-clock feedings and constant diaper changes; while meticulously keeping track of my baby’s daily schedule and analyzing his every cry; I began to bemoan, “Who’s taking care of me?”
With a new baby, it’s hard to find the time to simply brush our teeth or take a shower! While we devote all our energy to making sure our babies are happy and healthy, it’s easy to feel the absence of someone doing the same for us.
As a mom with a new baby, you might feel like your role in the world has morphed into simply existing to take care of someone else. While others graciously offer help, you might feel as though there are so many things only you can do.
In all the ways you are taking care of your baby, I want to tell you that God is taking care of you. He hears your every cry. He is intimately aware of your every need. He is devoted to caring for you. In Matthew, Jesus tells us to notice how God makes sure the birds are fed and the lilies are beautiful. “You are so much more valuable to God than birds and flowers!” Jesus reminds us. “Your heavenly Father knows what you need, so you don’t have to be anxious.” Isaiah 40:11 tells us that God “gently leads those that are with young.” God, your heavenly Father, is a Good Shepherd. He is gently and lovingly taking care of you.
In this devotional series, we are going to explore how God cares for us just as we care for our babies. Your baby does nothing for you, yet you don’t think twice about making sure his needs are met. Your baby has infinite value to you, though she brings nothing to the table on her own merit. In the same way, you are infinitely valuable to God, and you do not have to do anything to earn His care. You are God’s child, and He is eternally devoted to you in love.
Take a moment to rest in your Heavenly Father’s care for you.
