3. L – Look Back and Reflect

Jonathan Edwards' 70 resolutions, including number 40 (above), helped him to live an examined life—and ultimately an abundant life. 

With our eye on the prize of living a fruitful and fulfilled life in the Lord, in unpacking the P.L.A.N. acronym, we turn our attention to “L,” an encouragement to look back and reflect on what has gone before. 

Grab a pen and paper or personal journal and prayerfully consider the following questions. (Consider doing so over several days!)

As you look back and reflect on the past month, quarter, or perhaps year, consider: 

1. Where did you see God at work?
2. Who did God put in your path to come alongside?
3. What was your best memory that you want to always remember?
4. What area of your life was most transformed?
5. What new habit or habits were formed that you want to maintain?
6. What was an experience that you never want to repeat?
7. What things do you want to get rid of or change?
8. In what area(s) of your life did you lack progress?
9. What was missing?
10. What is the one thing you wanted to do but never did?
11. What held you back or moved you forward?
12. What did you learn?
