5 Things You Can Count on From Godنمونه
#3 - He Won’t Ever Give Up, Even If You Do
A pastor’s wife once told me about a woman in her church whose child had died at birth. Understandably, that loss had broken the woman’s heart. Unfortunately, years after the loss it still tormented her, even though she had given birth to other children. She had camped out in the land of hurt and was stuck there.
Persuaded by her husband, the woman reluctantly attended church, but she didn’t want anything to do with a God who would “steal her baby.” Every time her pastors would say, “God is a good God,” it would make her mad. All she could think was, If He is good, why did my baby die?
Everything changed after the woman’s daughter became pregnant. The pastors and the church prayed with this young couple for a healthy, perfect baby. They believed for a smooth delivery. After a nearly flawless pregnancy, during the delivery it became evident that something was wrong. The placenta came out in pieces, and the umbilical cord was in shreds; however, the baby was perfectly healthy and whole.
With a damaged placenta and umbilical cord—the source of nourishment—the baby should have died in the womb. The doctors were amazed the child survived, and they called it a miracle.
The woman who had been camped in the land of hurt, still mourning over the loss of her own baby years before, finally realized that God is a good God. Yes, questions remained unanswered about her own loss, but now she could see that God had been working in the unseen realm on her daughter’s and grandchild’s behalf. He had performed a miracle not because of her faithfulness, but because of His.
Second Timothy 2:13 says, “If we are faithless he always remains faithful” (Phillips). I also like the way The Message renders this verse: “If we give up on him, he does not give up.” God is remarkable. Even if you’re mad at Him, He won’t give up on you. He won’t turn His back or walk away.
Hebrews 10:23 says, “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering; for He who promised is faithful.” Rest assured, God is faithful. and you can count on Him Even when something bad has happened, He is faithful to His promises. You can hold fast to that.
