NT 260: Part ThreeSample
Peter tells the church leaders, called elders, they should not lead for their own personal gain. He tells those who are not leaders to make sure they follow their leader’s direction. Both are done as a way of obeying God.
Leaders sometimes forget why they are leading. When it becomes about control, it’s time to stop being a leader. Leadership in a church is about making other people successful in their relationship with Jesus. For those who have this kind of leader over them, it is important to follow their lead.
