Dealin' with Feelin'Näide

Sometimes everyone feels GLAD—happy, excited, thankful, delighted, or surprised! If you’re happy and you know it, God wants us to show it. Joy is contagious. We can help others overcome negative emotions by sharing our gladness with them.
Showing that we know that God is the reason for the gladness we are feeling is called rejoicing. When we feel glad, the right thing to do is to rejoice. This can mean smiling calmly and quietly feeling happy. It can mean shouting and dancing. It can be any way we demonstrate joyful feelings.
Rejoicing is like glowing in the dark. Not only is it fun to feel, it brings light and joy to others too. Say this out loud, “When I feel GLAD, it’s because of all God has given!”

About this Plan

What do I do when I feel mad, sad, bad, or glad? God made us with emotions. The Bible shows us God has emotions, too. Emotions aren’t bad, but they can often lead us to make sinful, selfish choices. Since emotions are common ground we share with God, they're a way we can get closer to Him and learn more about Him. This family plan with supporting videos can help kids learn what the Bible has to say about dealing with our feelings.
