Born for Such a Time as This!

Understanding Our Time and Purpose

Esther’s story is not just an account of a brave queen; it is a powerful reminder that God orchestrates history, raising up individuals at just the right time to stand against the works of the enemy. Esther was a descendant of Aaron, connected to the lineage of Moses. She understood that throughout history, when the enemy raised up a Pharaoh to oppress God’s people, God responded by raising up a Moses to bring deliverance.

In the same way, we live in times where evil seems to prevail, but God is still in the business of raising up those who will stand for righteousness. The question is: Will you be one of them?

A Look at History: Good vs. Evil

Throughout history, we see a pattern—whenever oppression arises, God raises up someone to fight for deliverance. Consider these examples:

Men and Women Who Sought to Do Evil:

1. Haman (Book of Esther)– Planned to annihilate the Jewish people in Persia out of pride and hatred.
   But God raised up: Queen Esther, who risked her life to intercede with King Xerxes and save her people.
2. Herod the Great (Biblical History)– Ordered the massacre of innocent babies in Bethlehem to eliminate Jesus.
   But God raised up: Mary and Joseph, who obeyed God’s direction and fled to Egypt to protect the newborn King.
3. Adolf Hitler (20th Century)– Perpetrated the Holocaust, leading to the genocide of six million Jews and millions of others.
   But people rose up: Winston Churchill, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and the Allied Forces, who resisted evil and fought for justice.

Men and Women Who Rose Up for Good:

1. William Wilberforce– Led the fight to end the transatlantic slave trade, driven by his Christian faith.
2. Rosa Parks– Refused to give up her seat on a segregated bus, igniting the Civil Rights Movement.
3. Martin Luther King Jr.– Advocated for equality and justice through nonviolent protest, inspired by God’s call for righteousness.
4. Harriet Tubman– Escaped slavery and became a conductor on the Underground Railroad, leading many others to freedom.
5. Nelson Mandela– Endured imprisonment while fighting against apartheid and later led South Africa toward reconciliation.
6. Corrie ten Boom– Risked her life hiding Jews during the Holocaust, demonstrating faith and compassion.

Each of these individuals could have remained silent, chosen comfort over courage, or ignored their divine assignment. Yet, they rose up and made history.

The Call for Today

The battle between good and evil is not just in history books—it is happening today. The enemy still seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but God is still raising up people to stand for righteousness. That includes you.

They were born for such a time as their time. God used ordinary people to do extraordinary things.

BUT YOU HAVE BEEN BORN FOR SUCH A TIME AS TODAY! NOT IN YOUR YESTERDAY, NOT IN THE FUTURE. IF YOU HAVE BREATH IN YOUR LUNGS, YOU HAVE BEEN BORN FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS!

Will you answer the call? Will you stand up for what is right, no matter the cost? God has positioned you where you are for a reason. Step forward in faith, because the world needs you now more than ever.
