The Take Off: Launching Into God’s PurposeNäide

God’s Clock, Not Ours
Have you ever felt like life wasn’t moving fast enough? Maybe you’re waiting for something big—like making the team, finding your friend group, or getting an answer to a prayer—and it feels like nothing is happening. It’s easy to feel frustrated when things don’t go the way we hope or when waiting seems endless. But here’s the truth: God’s timing is always perfect, even when it doesn’t match our own.
Why Can We Trust God’s Timing?
God’s timing is perfect because He is perfect. He doesn’t make mistakes, and He hasn’t forgotten about you. While we see only what’s right in front of us, God sees the bigger picture: your past, present, and future. He knows what’s best for you, even if it’s hard to understand in the moment.
Abraham and Sarah’s story is a great example of what happens when we don’t trust God’s timing. God promised Abraham that his descendants would be as countless as the stars in the sky. As the years went by and they didn’t have children, doubt crept in.
Instead of waiting for God, they tried to take control of the situation. Sarah told Abraham to have a child with her servant, Hagar. Abraham agreed, and they had a son named Ishmael (Genesis 16). But their decision caused major issues—jealousy, family conflict, and heartbreak.
Later, when Abraham and Sarah finally trusted God, Sarah gave birth to Isaac, the son God had promised all along. Isaac was part of God’s perfect plan, but they had to trust Him and wait for His timing (Genesis 21:1-3)
What Can We Learn?
Maybe you’re waiting for something right now, and it feels hard. It’s tempting to try and make things happen on your own, but rushing ahead can lead to stress, disappointment, and missing out on God’s best. Trust that God’s timing is always for your good—even if it doesn’t happen as quickly as you’d like.
