When Your World EndsNäide

Who Knew?
“Dawn, you’d better not be . . .” As children, we wonder how our parents can know what we’re doing or contemplating doing. How did Daddy know I was tempted to play when I should be working? How did Mama know I was tempted to scarf down one of her freshly baked cookies right before dinner? They know us as only a parent can.
Our Heavenly Father knows us better than our human parents. Before we entered our mother’s wombs, he knew us (Jeremiah 1:5), He numbered the hairs on our heads (Luke 12:7), and he collected our tears (Psalm 56:8).
Our Creator also knows our creative ability. He gave it to us as part of his intelligent design for our world and our participation in it. And Jesus knew, like Peter, we would face challenges in using our creativity, sometimes failing him. He knew we would struggle to reimagine our lives.
But he prayed for Peter, and he’s prayed for us. We can trust that and use our creativity to strengthen those in our sphere of influence.
Prayer:
Omniscient Father, thank you for all you know about us and how you use it for our good. Thank you, Jesus, for how your prayers cover us. Because of them, we need not be afraid. You didn’t give us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a strong mind. May we use our creative power and imaginations with love, passion, and intelligence to strengthen those in our sphere of influence. In the matchless name of Jesus, amen.
For Further Reflection:
What does God know about you, your creative abilities, and how you use them? How can you use your creative abilities to strengthen those in your sphere of influence? How can you use your creative abilities to reimagine your life?
Activity:
Brainstorm ways you can strengthen those in your sphere of influence in the area of creativity. Pick something on your list that moves you and them forward. Then, do it.
Thought for the Day:
God knows about your creative abilities and how you use them.

About this Plan

Reimagining your life requires creativity. After all, you need your imagination to produce ideas that lead to something new. If you can’t see life differently, you’re stuck. That’s a stumbling block. So, I created this devotional to help you revitalize your creativity by tapping into five of God’s characteristics—eternal, majestic, creative, omnipotent, and omniscient. See how God operates. Then, begin dreaming again.
