Sorry Not SorryNäide

When planning a road trip, there are a few different ways you can go about really detailing the journey ahead of you. You can map out the most direct route, saving you time and money along the way. You can look for the most scenic route, prioritizing an enjoyable ride and beautiful scenery to enjoy as you go. Or you can find any sort of tourist trap where you can spend a fun afternoon looking at the world’s biggest ball of yarn or the world’s smallest cave. No matter how you go about it, the goal is the same: We’re all working toward a destination.
Of course, no matter how hard we plan and map it out, a few things can still completely alter our plan. A flat tire that puts your car out of commission. A wrong turn that leads to hours of confusing detours. An engine that completely gives out on you. Just like that, you suddenly find yourself stuck and unable to move forward. Grudges can feel like that in life. On our journey forward, those unexpected struggles pop up that keep us from where we want to be. We know there are things we can do to fix them and go back to the path we know is best, but it’s not always easy. That’s why we must turn to the Lord to help remove those grudges that become roadblocks in our spiritual journey.
Can you think of a grudge you may have been holding that has become a bigger roadblock over time? What do you think it would take for you to move forward? This week, talk to God about helping you lift that roadblock and move on from your grudge and forward in your faith.

About this Plan

Forgiveness feels like something that we know we should do, but it isn’t always something we actually do. We all sometimes find it hard to live out forgiveness in our everyday lives. It’s hard to find a way to let go, but what if there is a way to let go and forgive? In this devotional, we’ll look at the way forgiveness can work in our lives to move us toward freedom for ourselves and others.
