Journey With Jesus 365Näide

What does it mean to be self-righteous?
Jesus gives a parable to call out the self-righteous religious leaders. In the parable, one man, a religious leader, prays out loud so that others can hear him thank God for all the areas he is righteous. The other man, a despised tax collector, had an attitude of humility and repentance. Both prayed, but only one came to God humbly. In his so-called prayer, the first man spoke not to God but for others to hear. The tax collector did not have eloquent flowing words, but his prayer pleased God. The Pharisee exalted himself, and the tax collector approached God in humility.
Do your actions please God or do you only do good things to impress others? Seek humility in everything you do today!
