Journey With Jesus 365Näide

Is there such a thing as a dumb question?
Sadly, the religious leaders of Jesus’ day made several unsuccessful attempts to trick Jesus. These include: (1) whether the baptism of John was from heaven or men, (2) trying to entrap him regarding the lawfulness of paying taxes to Caesar, and (3) a ridiculous question about marriage in the resurrection. There is a great lesson to be learned in Jesus’ responses to all three attempts to trick or discredit. He did not look for debates. Instead, He used these opportunities to teach, answering them with great wisdom and power. On the first, Jesus chose not to answer the question. In response to the question of taxes, Jesus affirmed that we are responsible to God in all things, but we must be obedient to government in civil and national matters. Lastly, Jesus addressed the question of life in the resurrection, as a moment to teach the truth of the resurrection to a group that did not believe in miracles, spirits, angels, or the second coming.
Do you ever find yourself questioning Jesus as if you somehow know better than Him? Trust Him today!
