Living in Christ: Embracing the Life God Has for YouSample
We all know famous people. Actors and athletes and entertainers and politicians. In fact, we know some famous people so well that it feels like we're friends. It feels like we know them deeply.
But here's the thing. They don't know us. It's all one-directional. In fact, they never even heard of us. They would walk right past us on the street.
When it comes to our relationship with God, we tend to focus on us knowing God. And as wonderful and as critical as that is, there's more to it. It's a joy to learn about who God is and to learn His ways. But again, that's only half the marvelous truth.
God also knows us. It's a two-way relationship, not a one-way one.
Now imagine what it would feel like if one of those famous people that you feel you know wanted to get to know you. Or maybe one of these famous people for some reason an interview mentioned you by name. That would be amazing. But as amazing as that might be, it pales in comparison to the Creator God knowing you.
God knows your name. He knows your story. He knows what you like and what you love. He knows what excites you and what frightens you. He knows what your soul longs for. He knows your struggles. He knows your pains. He knows every single thing there is to know about you, even more than you know about yourself. This God who knows so much about you loves you fully.
- Who is the most famous person you know?
- How does it make you feel that you are known by God?
