Day 5: The Courage to Lead Boldly
Being a leader requires courage, especially when it comes to making difficult decisions or openly living our faith. God calls us to be strong and courageous, just as He said to Joshua before he took command to lead the people of Israel into the Promised Land (Joshua 1:9). Joshua did not always feel prepared, but similar to Moses, God made a promise to him: "I will be with you wherever you go,” which gave him the courage to move forward and succeed in the task God had assigned him.
In our daily lives, we may face challenges that require us to have that same boldness. Perhaps we are asked to speak openly about our faith, take an ethical stand at work, or make choices that set us apart from others. But when we remember that God is with us, we can find the courage to be bold leaders.
When we acknowledge that God is with us, we are given an unmatched source of courage. Every time we take a stand in faith, even when it is difficult, we demonstrate that our trust is rooted in God. In this way, we not only face our personal challenges but also become examples that inspire and encourage others. True leadership, therefore, is an act of courage that is not solely based on our abilities but on the power of God working through us.
Reflective Question: In what areas of your life is God calling you to be bolder?
Prayer: God, give me the courage to lead boldly, knowing that You are with me. When I feel inadequate or uncertain, remind me of Your promise to always be by my side, and help me take courageous steps of faith in ways that can encourage and inspire others. Amen.
