When you hear the word "love," what do you think about?
You may think of pepperoni pizza, cookie dough ice cream, spring break, skiing, or your favorite music. Maybe you're thinking about the person you are dating, or the love you have for your family.
It is easy to think of things, or even people, that we love . . . but what is love?
Love is a feeling, yes, but love is also an action. We can't truly love someone without action, right? We can't love our friends and family and never spend time with them.
As we continue to learn about God, we realize God is love. You can't separate God from what love truly is — it's in everything that God says and does.
So, as we follow in Jesus' footsteps, love should be at the center of our lives, too. What we say and what we do should be motivated by love. That isn't always easy, though . . . So, how do we live that out? Thankfully, it isn't about us. When we experience God's love, then that love overflows, and God loves through us.
Because of God, we have experienced the greatest love ever known. We can't keep that love to ourselves. When we are overcome with God's love, we are inspired to care for, and meet the needs of, those around us.

About this Plan
For the next four weeks, we’ll look at how the earliest followers of Jesus created a new kind of community as God's family. Through their example, we’ll learn that there is enough when we share what we have — and if there isn’t enough, God provides. We'll also learn that our actions can speak when words aren’t enough and that God’s love is always enough.
