Receiving a calling from the Lord is undoubtedly a game-changing moment. After encountering direction from the Lord, the trajectory of one's life is forever altered. The pages of scripture are filled with countless instances of men and women who received a divine calling and chose to respond with obedience.

Few stories resonate as powerfully as that of Abraham, a man chosen by God for incredible purposes. Abraham's life was familiar and secure when God's voice called to him. God's promise was profound: He would make Abraham a father of nations, despite his old age and his wife's barrenness. The calling was a divine invitation to embark on a journey that would shape not only his own life, but also the course of history.

Answering this call demanded extraordinary faith. It required Abraham to stand firm in his faith, live in obedience to the word of God, and take risks. Obedience intertwined with risk defined Abraham’s story. His journey wasn't without challenges: famine, conflicts, doubts, and the test of his faith through the near-sacrifice of Isaac. Through every trying moment, Abraham's obedience was steadfast. His obedience was the game-changing moment.

Like Abraham, our lives are marked by moments when God's call challenges us to step into the unknown. It is in these game-changing moments that our faith is tested and refined, leading our relationship with the Lord to deepen. We learn that following God's call involves both risk and reward – the risk of surrendering control and comfortability and the reward of experiencing God's faithfulness in powerful, new ways.
