Becoming a Son That Pleases the FatherSample
RENOUNCE THE OWNERSHIP OF YOUR LIFE TO GOD
The Lordship of Jesus is the heart of Christianity! The kind of Christian that God will decorate with wealth is the one that has first given up ownership to God. It is such a Christian that will keep serving God even if he doesn’t have anything.
Let the devil know that there is nothing he can do that will cause you to stop loving God. This is the point at which your judgment of God‘s goodness is no longer based on what He does or does not do for you. Always let it be settled in your heart that God is good. Whenever the devil draws your mind to your life’s issues or needs, let him know that every matter pertaining to your life is in God’s hands.
That was what Jesus implied in Matthew 10:38-39 (MSG):
38-39 “If you don’t go all the way with me, through thick and thin, you don’t deserve me. If your first concern is to look after yourself, you’ll never find yourself. But if you forget about yourself and look to me, you’ll find both yourself and me.
You will find your life if you are willing to lose it because your life is not just about the air you breathe or other material things. Renounce ownership of your life to God now! What you should strive for, instead, is to know the ways of God. God showed His ways to Moses, but He showed only His acts unto the children of Israel (Psa. 103:7). God showing His acts to the children of Israel is like working as a salaried staff in a company. However, when God shows you his ways, like Moses, you are like a director partaking in the company’s decision-making process.
PRAYER: Lord, I look to You. I am convinced that You are always good and that You will take me further than myself when I renounce ownership of my life to You, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
