Conversations With God: After Miscarriage & Pregnancy Loss

DAY 6 OF 7

Day VI: The Unexpected Plan

I never saw my life turning out the way it has with the pursuit of motherhood. I dreamed of a different life. I pursued my goals. I did everything possible to reach the version of myself and the life that I wanted. But that isn't where I was at that moment.

I never would have thought something like this would be a part of my life. My journey. My story. But that's the thing to accept in my mind. It is my life, but it's God's story. He is the author; I am not. No matter how much I try to continue to write my story, God's plan is the one that will stand. I can't have any present ideas to hold on to for the future. I have desires; God is aware of that. And if it's in His permissive will, it will happen.

All He does, plans, and allows in His story is for our good. We should be satisfied if we genuinely believe that and indeed hold that dear to our hearts. He had it all planned out, and he already knew.

So, I will work on accepting my life because it is His perfect plan. Do I like it right now? No. Will it turn out for my good? Yes. That doesn't belittle my pain. It doesn't belittle your pain. Many in the Bible can relate to your pain, but they can also relate to the purpose that will come in the future: Joseph, Moses, Job, Sarah, and many others.

Are you surprised this has happened to you?

How did you imagine your life would be right now?

Wherever you are, can you find some good in the story? A purpose?
