Treasure In Hardships
If you are in a hard season right now, you're in the perfect position to learn. Trying times are a learning opportunity, and when we view them as such, we open ourselves up to growth. Circumstances that challenge you bring about a chance for you to not only learn new things about yourself and your resilience, but also new things about God and his character.
We tend to get excited about the end of hardship because that's usually the beginning of better days; it's when the glory that is promised on the other side of suffering is revealed. It's normal to be excited about that, and nothing is wrong with being hopeful for better days, but challenge yourself to start exploring the value of being in a hard season. There's a treasure tucked in the chaos.
The next time you're up against circumstances that seem insurmountable and impossible, pause and ask, God, what will you have me to learn in this? And then welcome the lessons with an open mind and heart.
Prayer: Father, I have full confidence that you will save me from every hardship. While I wait for you to move, I welcome the opportunities to learn more about your ways and myself. Amen.
