Impact and InfluenceNäide

Watch Your Words
How good are you at watching your words? Watching what you say?
Words are a powerful force. By design, they are meant to impact whatever object is on the receiving end of them. The power of words dates back to Genesis when God spoke intentional words into an empty space and the world was created. Everything that was nothing became something.
Our words have the same power. They can create something out of nothing. They can build up or break down. They can ruin or they can restore. They can cause life or death.
If you want God to trust you with influence, you must assume the responsibility of being wise with your words. As a person of influence, you cannot afford to be careless with their speaking. Instead, you must master considering your words before you speak them, being mindful of not only what you say but how you package it—delivery is everything—and ensure that your words are always full of grace.
Prayer: Father, today, I echo the prayer of Psalm 19:14: May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer. Teach me to be careful with my words and to use them in ways that won't rob you of honor. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
