The Jesus Bible Reading PlanNäide

A NEW LAND
Central to the promises of God was the gift of land. Reminiscent of the Garden of Eden, the people were promised that they would dwell with God in a good land overflowing with the provision of the Lord. The Israelites were not merely inhabitants in this land; they were each given a portion of the land as a bountiful inheritance. They were reminded that God was not merely a God of the nation but a personal God who cared for each of them individually. Jesus demonstrated the same personal care when he promised an inheritance in heaven to all of his children (Jn 14:1 – 4). He is now preparing this dwelling place for each of those who have trusted in him by faith and repentance. There they will receive the inheritance of those who are in Christ Jesus as they rule and reign forever with him in a new land, the new heaven and new earth (2Pe 3:13; Rev 21:1).
Jesus, thank you for being a personal Savior who is preparing an eternal dwelling place for me. I could never deserve such a love as yours. Amen.
