Disaster: When Life Falls ApartSample
Let God Put You Back Together
After any disaster strikes, there must be clean-up. Bits and pieces of broken glass, charred wood, or flooded flooring must be swept up. Anything that can be salvaged is, and the rest will be hauled away to the trash heap.
When this happens to your life—divorce, addiction, betrayal, loss, death, sickness—your first instinct may be to throw it all away. But God has something better for you.
God will put all your pieces back together in a new and better way. He will make sure that the broken places become strong again. He won’t leave you crushed, cracked, damaged, or alone. He promises not just to sweep up the broken pieces of your life but also to mold and mend them back together.
Jeremiah 17:14 (MSG) says, God, pick up the pieces. Put me back together again. You are my praise! Because he is the Great Artist, you will become a beautiful mosaic, a work of art, when everything comes apart, and he puts you back together.
He never puts things back like they were. He makes them better. More beautiful. More prepared for the next level he wants to bring you to in your destiny.
He has plans for your life, and they are good. Maybe it doesn’t feel good right now or is downright painful. But if you are still breathing, he still has a purpose for you.
Let him put all your brokenness together. Lovingly, gently, he will make you into something truly beautiful and formidable. Better and stronger than ever.
Prayer: Father, this disaster has hurt me. It has taken my life into a place I can’t recover from unless you help. Pieces of my life are scattered around me, and I’m not even sure I can find them all. Could you put me back together? I can’t do this alone; without you, I may quit. Please be with me, hold all my pieces in your gentle hands, and do what you will with them. I trust you with this process. I love you, and I need you more than ever. In Jesus’ name, amen.
