Break TrailSample
Sometimes we get some really confusing information. The instructions don't always make sense, and we feel like we have to make it up along the way if we're going to get anywhere. Maybe it's a project. Maybe it's life. Have you ever paused to ask yourself why we have the Bible? Like, it's a huge book that was written a really long time ago. Why do we still have it? Why should we care what it says?
Well, we have the Bible to guide us in life. Words of wisdom, stories of insight to illuminate our paths. It's more than instructions . . . it is a book made up of original sacred texts, real expressions of life, letters, poetry, and historical records. With all this info, what is so important? Why does it matter? These words reveal the nature of Jesus, just as Jesus revealed himself to his disciples. By believing and trusting in Jesus, we can have peace in our hearts and peace in our minds. We have the Bible so that we can believe, even when we are unsure or doubting.
When you find it hard to believe, or are doubting, how can Jesus' message encourage you?

About this Plan
If you're a hiker, you know a trail-breaker is someone who walks ahead, makes a new way, and invites others to follow. That's exactly what Jesus did for us. He broke a new trail with his birth, his life, his teachings, and then with his death and resurrection. In this 30-day devotional series designed for Lent, we’ll see how Jesus showed us a new way of living and knowing God.
